| What is the meaning of Valentine's Day to you? |
When the girl was 12 years old, the meaning of Valentine's Day was... seeing some girls in my class getting excited over the flowers or chocolates they received... and seeing some boys in my class being mercilessly teased by other boys. She felt envious and also had very low self-esteem for herself...
When she was 14 years old, she received my first Valentine's Day present from ZM. It was a stalk of white lily. They had pizza at his house and he took her to a park where he sang her favourite song then... She did felt very touched and very cherished. at that time, she even thought that he was the guy I was going to be with for a long time. well it proves how naive her thinking was then.
When she was 16 years old, she celebrated Valentine's Day with her friends in style. They had a huge barbeque party at her friend's house and they just enjoyed each other's company. They also exchanged presents for that day was declared as Friendship Day. It was an occasion that she would remember for quite some time... though the friendships had changed over the years, be it diluted or whatsoever, the bonds are still there...
When she was 18 years old and all the wiser, she also had a romantic Valentine's Day celebration. this time, she had a huge bouquet of white lilies and ate dinner at a most expensive-looking restaurant. after that, E brought her to this jazz pub for after-dinner drinks and to listen to the much-lauded jazz singer. It was not the most unforgettable date for her jaded heart but the effort put in was still much appreciated...
When she was 20 years old, she no longer celebrates her Valentine's day the usual way . Instead, she spent it with friends...close friends who shared similar beliefs. It was unforgettable as the brothers who organised it were truly doing it out of a heart to appreciate the sisters and not to impress them or expecting anything in return... such a heart moved her and inspired her to really think about the meaning of valentine's day ever since...
now she is 23 years old... to her Valentine's Day is not just a day where one spends with her loved one/s; but also a day where one can remember the love of Him. He is the perfect husband and boyfriend... and with such an outpouring of love, she decides to just be able to share that joy with others...
