| At the Crossroads |
Cars whizzing past on my left,
Motorbikes recklessly roaring on my right
Vintage Beetle sounding its horn a distance in front of me
I turned and got temporarily blinded
By large headlights of a container truck.
I am waiting.
Waiting for the traffic lights to change colour
Like how I am changing paths.
Waiting to see which direction I should go.
Whichever direction I take
I know You are holding my right hand.
Please do not let go.
I will tug and rebel.
I will throw tantrums.
I will cry buckets.
I will try to bite your hand.
Yet please hold on to me.
I am just afraid.
Afraid of what the future holds for me.
I know You have plans for me.
Yet sometimes I lack the faith to trust in the Hope
You have blessed me since Jesus was nailed to the cross.
